Frequently Asked Questions
How much do sessions cost?Nick’s Rates – Individual (50 min) – $150; Couples & Families (50 min) – $150; Couples & Families (90 min) – $175
Tommy’s Rates – Individual (50 min) – $130; Couples & Families (50 min) – $150; Couples & Families (90 min) – $175.We also offer a limited number of sliding-scale appointments when availability allows. We know that cost can be an important part of deciding whether therapy feels accessible and sustainable. If cost is a concern, you’re always welcome to ask about current sliding-scale availability.
How long does therapy usually last?Therapy sessions are approximately 50 minutes. How long you stay in therapy is much more personal. Some people come to therapy with a specific concern they want help navigating, while others find value in having a space to understand their patterns, relationships, and themselves more deeply. There isn’t a set timeline you have to follow. We will continue to talk about what feels helpful, what is changing, and what you need along the way.
How can I attend therapy? We offer both in-person and telehealth appointments, so you can choose the setting that feels most comfortable and practical for you. Telehealth appointments are available when you are located in the state of Kansas at the time of your session.
What can I expect in the first session? We’ll review informed consent and answer any questions you have about therapy, but most of our time will focus on what brought you in, what has been feeling difficult, and what you hope might be different. We may ask about your experiences, relationships, background, and the things that feel most important to you. You don’t need to know exactly where to start or have a perfectly defined goal before you arrive. We can figure that out together.
How do I know when I’m ready for therapy? The clients we see in therapy are in a variety of places in their journey. If you are wanting support, feeling stuck, confused about life, or hoping to understand yourself more deeply, there is space for you here. We’ll be happy to explore what you need together, at a pace that feels manageable.
Do you take insurance? We are currently a private-pay practice and are not able to take insurance. We know insurance coverage can make therapy more accessible, and we hope to offer insurance options in the future. As that changes, we’ll keep our website updated so you can easily see what options are available. However, we do offer superbills for session fees, which are reimbursed by some insurance companies.
